Newsletter from Dr Nicola McDowell, Austin Assessment Founder.

Hello and welcome to our first ever newsletter.

As someone living with CVI an essential principle of the Austin Assessment is that it has been designed and developed by the CVI community for the CVI community. At every stage of the journey I have reached out to the community I am proud to be a part of, including children, parents, professionals and researchers, to ensure the Austin Assessment is as good as it can be. The feedback I have received thus far has been invaluable in helping me to create a screening tool that will hopefully meet the needs of all that use it.

Now that the Austin Assessment App is available, I can see possible areas for improvement, but I need your help. Please, whether you have used the Austin Assessment or not, can you answer a few questions. The survey takes under a minute to complete, link below.

I will keep you updated with our journey through these newsletters, as we identify children affected by CVI, so they can get the support they need.

Nicola McDowell

What's new

The Austin Assessment Work app was designed for people who want to test many children, for example in whole schools or for research. Bundles of 50, 100, 500 screening tests were available, but we were asked for smaller packs. We have listened to this feedback and added a smaller pack of 10 screenings for NZ$55.
