Homegrown app helps spot common visual condition in children

Nicola McDowell, creator of the Austin Assessment App and founder of the Austin McDowell Foundation was recently interviewed by Paddy Gower on the RNZ (Radio New Zealand) news programme, Nine to Noon. In the interview, Nicola talks about CVI, what it is and how living with unknown CVI can impact on children, sharing her own experiences as a teenager. She also talks about how the Austin Assessment was created and validated and how it can be used to help identify CVI related visual issues in children.

Since the App's launch in January 2024, it has been downloaded in 37 countries around the world.
